Raisin needed to scale compliance, product, and commercial hiring fast, without overcommitting to permanent TA headcount. The rec hub embedded a dedicated talent partner, George, within Raisin's hiring function. He supported multiple business units, upskilled early career TA team members, and covered seamlessly during parental leave. In Matt Marmoy-Savage's words, Head of Talent Acquisition at Raisin, the embedded model gave them flexibility "without losing momentum." #insidetherechub #embeddedrecruitment #therechub

The ratio of unemployed people to job vacancies in the UK has risen by around 14% year on year, up to 2.5 per vacancy in early 2026 from 2.2 the year before. On paper that sounds like there are more candidates available than ever. In practice, the imbalance isn't evenly spread. Vacancies actually fell hardest in professional, scientific and technical activities, the exact sector where specialist skills are still the hardest to source. More candidates overall doesn't mean an easier hire. It means the right candidate is harder to find inside a bigger pile of applications. #themarket #skillsshortage #therechub

#talentpartnertip Most job ads list requirements. The ones that convert sell a decision. A few things that make the difference: Lead with what the person will actually be doing in the first 90 days, not a list of responsibilities copied from the last job spec. Cut the requirement list down to what's actually essential. Every extra "nice to have" filters out good candidates who would have applied otherwise. Be specific about salary range. Candidates skip ads that hide it, and you skip wasting time on mismatched expectations. Say something true about the team or the culture that you couldn't copy and paste onto a different company's ad. A job ad isn't a checklist. It's the first impression of what it's like to work there. #hiringtips #therechub

Most return to work plans are built for maternity or new starters. Cancer treatment, mental health crises, and other serious health events usually get nothing. Bill Brewer shares his take on reintegration after a conversation with Edan Haddock from Movember on the Powered By People podcast. Most hiring metrics tell you what something cost. Very few tell you what it was worth. That's the gap Kevin Blair's work with the rec hub is designed to close. Alongside the "Beyond Cost Per Hire" report, we've built a free KPI Impact Builder that takes you through a guided five-step process to identify which hires are driving revenue, map the right performance indicators to each role, and set up a structured review rhythm from day 30 through to month 12. The result: a personalised framework that gives you a clear, repeatable way to measure whether hiring is actually accelerating your business. If you're still relying on cost per hire as your primary measure of talent ROI, this one is for you.
